Debbie Mulay

Volunteer since Oct 2012

…you don’t have to be a teacher to do this.

Meet Debbie! She is a retired teacher who worked as a Title 1 Reading Specialist at South Mesa Elementary in Pueblo School District 70 for many years.

She has tutored for Children’s Literacy Center for six years and has been a great asset to the Peak Reader Program at Bradford Elementary. One of her site coordinators said, “I can always depend on Debbie to be there for the children.”

Debbie loves to shop, travel and of course read books! Her favorite authors are Roald Dahl and Jan Brett.

When asked what she shares with potential volunteers, she said, “Anybody who has a love for children and wants to help, can be a tutor for Children’s Literacy Center. The curriculum is simple to follow. You don’t have to be a teacher to do this.”

THANK YOU DEBBIE! YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
